Collaborative Family Law

Collaborative Family Law takes place when each party has a collaboratively trained lawyer and the parties enter into a contract to resolve their dispute out of court with Collaborative Divorce Professionals.

This process can be less costly (in the long run to families). If the parties have an issue requiring an expert opinion, one expert is obtained. For example, parties have parenting issues, one collaboratively trained psychologist will be retained to assist rather than each party getting an expert.

This process emphasizes dignity and respect. The parties focus on their priorities and the collaborative team helps lead the parties to finding common ground and to settlement.

Iain is a member of the Collaborative Divorce Alberta Association and can assist you if this is an option you wish to pursue.
